Yala National Park is the most popular wildlife safari destination in Sri Lanka. Yala plays a very significant role in conservation of a large number of flora and fauna in the country. It covers 97,878 hectares over the Southern and Uva Provinces. It can see animals like the Sri Lankan Sloth Bear, Sri Lankan Leopard, Sri Lankan Elephant, Wild water buffalo and etc. Of 218 bird species of the park, six are endemic to Sri Lanka. Mirissa is a picturesque fishing town, just a few minutes away from the main city Matara. Its crescent shaped sandy beach is surrounded by coves and palm trees, while the waters are perfect for a number of water sports. Mirissa is the largest fishing port on the south coast. Mirissa provides the best location in Sri Lanka for whale watching. November to April is the best season for whale watching, which is when these majestic creatures are crossing the southern tip of Sri Lanka, the Dondra Point. The peak season is from December to March, when the water off the coast is warm and calm, and perfect for migrating whales. Most sightings occur 3 – 6 miles off the coast, where you can witness the whales gracefully emerge from the water for air. Mirissa is one of the top spots in the world for Sperm and Blue whales sightings, as they are frequently spotted here. In addition, you can spot pods of dolphins, such as Bottle-nose, Spinner and Risso’s dolphins, particularly during January and April.

Madu River Boat Safari
Picturesque and magnificent huge mangroves and waterbed surrounded Ramsar Convention wetland located near Galle. This tremendous place spread over 770 hectares with found 64 islands. Also, Madu Ganga is considered as Sri Lanka’s second largest wetland consisting. Madu River is a great place to feel the natural lush in a wider angle. Day Tour to Kanneliya Rain Forest
Kanneliya is a small UNESCO biosphere reserve in Galle District in southern Sri Lanka. This lowland rainforest is part of the hilly region of the so-called KDN forest complex (Kanneliya-Dediyagala-Nakiyadeniya). Kanneliya is one of the botanically richest areas in South Asia. The average annual precipitation in this wetland zone, which is the island’s second largest rain forest, is 3,750 mm. Kanneliya is not far from the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, there are plans to connect both sanctuaries by a forest corridor. 50 % of tree species in Kanneliya are endemic to Sri Lanka, 45 % of plant species in Kanneliya are categorized rare. 41 animal species are endemic, too. Kanneliya is a habitat of the very same 20 endemic bird species that occur in Sinharaja. it’s also well-known for its diversity of freshwater fish and water snakes.
